new and coming soon!

I've started to upload fun summer pics~lots of dirt and fun! I've also found another giveaway site! It started with Metroplex Baby and Kid's Best and Hottest~once again I got such a great item! This time it's a diaper bag (purse for me) from Tinky Bébé. I won the Charlotte bag! It's absolutely luscious Italian leather than smell heavenly. Buying it retail? Get 2 and you could have bought my first car! I'm in giddy love! Well, to appease my conscious for not getting the boys something, I told myself I would sell some of my other diaper bags (sniff) to buy 1-2 of the items I'd originally had picked for my "wish list". Then, researching buying the PlaSmart Plasma car, I found something FANTASTIC! WIN ONE! Oh yes, that's how I stumbled on Gobs of Giveaways, quite a neat site with cool products! A number of the giveaways I'm already quite the fan of the products (if only you could see my metromom smile!) Check out the Gobs blog and see what you like and can win!
Stay tuned for pics!!!!

Owen's first Birthday dinner

Owen's first ride forward facing! On his way to Pei Wei!

BOAT!!! (note the clean placemat)

CAKE! Might I mention there's icing on the table behind us?

Love me!

All clean!

(yes, I even cleaned the highchair and the table behind us!)

arrg, so many things, so little time until the terrors wake up! First, let me say switching Collin to cow milk was a breeze~the hardest part is keeping up with his intake (he drinks ALOT). Now then, there's Owen..... First he needed soy formula to keep his gas and fussiness to a minimum. The doc said that since he tolerated breast milk he should be fine with cow milk, so we gave him fully leaded cow milk. The poop that was the color of cow milk was alarming, but the screaming an hour before and 20 minutes afterwards, not acceptable. Back on the formula until the doctor opened on Monday. Meanwhile, mom did research. Did you know most of the world is lactose intolerant? Silly caucasian American, we forget we're the minority! 15% of caucasions are intolerant while 80% of....asian, mediteranian, middle eastern, etc are lactose intolerant. Not places you consider milk countries~think about it....so, then comes....If a breastfed baby is lactose intolerant, what is the mom to do? Follow a lactose free diet! Guess who really doesn't drink milk, and tries to keep dairy to 1 yogurt a day? yep, yours truly.
Where's this going? Owen has now been on soymilk for 4 days. Poop is back to normal brownish/green, crying is minimal, he's happy. So why am I still typing about this? Oh, the look of horror on my brother's face when a gunshot went off 2 feet from him near the floor, a retort accentuated by a giggle of happiness and a look of pride by Owen. Then the smell hit poor Eric (sorry, I have to stop to snicker) and I got the dirties look! I think he actually thinks I've been giving him rotten garbage to eat! Wow, the Owen's farts STINK!!!!! Arg! I hear fussing. Maybe more later.

Wordless Wednesdays

5/5

I know it's really Wednesday, but it's still Tuesday for me! A 4.5 hour nap didn't help. I did get to make tortilla soup as my G rated Cinco De Mayo celebration. I didn't tell my mom about any of my more fun celebrations from the past (I deny ALL!!!!) though let me tell you, the Lava-rita that we made from the fish bowl margaritas and the jello shots from On The Border in Tyler many years ago still sits fondly in my mind. Also high up there is the song a crony and I made up that I can never remember the words to for some reason but it kinda goes to the Chiquita Banana song (very liberaly) and starts out:

It's Cinco de Mayo and I'm here to say
Tequila goes down many a way
you can sip it
you can shoot it,
any way you drink it,
just don't go and snort it.....

Trust me it sounds much better when sung at the top of your lungs and half a bottle of special reserve down. But enough on that subject!

I've gotten hooked on reading blogs and have noticed some trends that should help? I need to work on the picture taking for wordless wednesdays, but I'm going to try with one of my favorite pics of they boys tomorrow (ie 10 minutes from now)
Till then....

YA!

YAAA! 3 things to celebrate!
a)I just learned how to add the tabby things on the sidebar there to advertise important things like:
b)Support MADD! I'm a "virtual" walker in the April 25th Mothers Against Drunk Driving walk. I'd be a real walker (he he) but I work the night before and the night of. Feel free to go to the site and support me
c) I finally got my link up for Seven Dogs And A Baby! It's a great blog that reviews cool mom and baby things, plus has great giveaways (my fav). They just started a birthday bash as the Blogger's son and blog is turning 2. good times, check it out!

Ok, so it's been awhile since my last blog. Apparently I like to sleep too much and the kids don't like to sleep. Let's go for a quick recap before my stuffy nose realizes the sudafed had worn off (their 12hours don't last as long as mine) Collin's doing well, typical way too smart 2yo. He starts indoor soccer on Friday. Owen now 10 1/2 mo! who decided to start walking this past week! Wow, once he puts his mind to something, there's no stopping him. His favorite thing is still paper goods, followed by mommy. yep, pretty sure it's in that order. The boys really enjoyed Easter, even though they can't understand the religious reasons for the holiday, they sure do understand eggs! Collin had 2 egg hunts at school, so he was an old pro by the time we went to the zoo for our Stroller Safari and Egg hunt with metromoms. Owen was fine with 2 eggs, one to hold and one to suck on. By Easter morning, both kids knew the ropes. Eddy was able to watch them hunt eggs via skype-worth the new laptop and webcam! It's hard to get owen's walking on video, because when he sees me on the computer he goes into attack mode--it's best to either shut the computer or produce some yummy paper to chew on, though that doesn't always work. A quick visual would be a very excited penguin waddling 12 steps then falling on his bum. Me? oh, I'm trying to start exersizing again (trying). At the Best and Hottest baby products fun I went to Thursday I chose Mama Mio's Boot Camp for Butts-I was # 83 of 104, and still got a selection worth $160! Plus, I just love the products-I used it all through my pregnancies. Now I just have to open the box, sigh.....

Well, the new year is here, both American and Chinese. I'm still getting around to making resolutions.....especially regarding blogging! Big happenings in the Tang universe? Collin's peeing habits and Owen getting too long for his carseat! It is 0249 in the morning and I'm at work, so there are a lot of ()'s so this makes sense.
The pediatrician says no matter when we start, Collin will be potty trained by 3. Sure, Eddy was potty trained by 6months, and me by 2years or so, but these days you're not supposed to pressure them. All I'm asking him to do is not pee on the floor. It started out well with Collin staying dry all day at school, so my mom put him in big boy pants. We tried to call Eddy to wish him a happy birthday, and Owen rebooted the computer (I'm sure C taught him that). Then I looked up and Collin was in a pool of water. Of course, it can't be as simple as just throwing a towel down. My mom has recarpeted the living/play room with foam alphabet tiles so O doesn't get hurt falling (another whole blog). Cleaning up all the day's urine (I believe he'd stored it up to insure I had fond memoried of his childhood) involved pulling up about 12 tiles and cleaning them and the floor under it. Coming back from cleaning the tiles in the tub, I realized Eddy would be wondering where we were, so I checked the computer. As I was realizing that no one had put pullups on C since his incident, I looked up to see him running his cars through a suspicious body of water. Yep, he'd peed on a fresh set of tile! sigh. Eddy never got called back.
gotta go, owen later.

Alright, I have errands to do today, and I already dread it. Collin's not too bad now, but Owen only likes being in the car if it's moving. The thought of traffic lights makes me tremble~there are certain ones that i go out of my way to avoid. One of the products at this last Best and Hottest by http://www.metroplexbaby.com/ made me think that my absolute ultimate baby gear is possible. The actual product is pretty cool: The Car Seat Monitor made by Cars N Kids sounds a lullaby when your car stops, reminding you that the car seat is in your car. After installation, the monitor automatically sounds when it senses the baby’s weight in the car seat. After a delayed stop, a soothing lullaby plays. I've never had this problem. Owen howls once the car slows below 5mph, which leads me to my dream product...
Why can't there be something that starts to vibrate the car seat as your car stops???? I'm sure this idea will be ripped off and I'll miss out on millions, but think of all the frayed nerves this would save sleep deprived parents?

FUN!

I'm still enjoying the fun of my latest mom's night out- MetroMoms/Metroplex Baby & Kids Best & Hottest Products event Thursday night. If you haven't heard me rave about this, I barely know where to start! First, the website is a cornucopia of information about everything baby/kid/family in DFW. Plus, my favorite, the mom events! I love the informative lectures and culture enriching outings, but what warms the cockles of my shopaholic heart-the stuff! They go out of their way to find all the newest and coolest products out there to make being a mom easier and cooler. Love it! Side benefit? Meeting other moms and kiddos. You can check them out at www.metroplexbaby.com Thursday's best and hottest rocked, with a whole restraunt to ourselves and lots of cool stuff. You get a number then start with #1 and pick a product. This time I had #93, but still snagged something I had my eye on. Neither boy uses a lovie or silkie, but I love them. I got a cool black on black silkie that tucks into itself, making a pretty ball that keeps it from getting nasty when tucked into bags or on the floor of your car. It's from Wagamama Baby. Well, more from me later!

My sophmore post

Wow, I never thought I'd make it to post #2! Working nights, I'm either up with the boys, at work, or asleep. The boys are so big! Both have been to the doctor recently for a nasty virus that involves lots of snot and coughing-ewwww! the upside is that I know that Collin, at 27months weighs, 30 lb; and Owen' at almost 8 months, already weighs 20! SURVIVAL-O's a smart kid, he knows he'd better catch up fast. You should see him crawl-he's trying to find all his toys that Collin's hidden. I know Collin has my passport somewhere!
